Senior Corporate Accountant – Investment Firm

nn OVERVIEW nn nnOur client is a multi-asset alternative investment firm with more than $75 billion of assets under management.

This position is part of the Corporate Finance team.

Candidates do not need prior experience in the asset management industry.nn nn n nn nn KEY RESPONSIBILITIES nn nnResponsible for the following tasks:nn Support the accounting and reporting function including independent audits and quarterly bank covenant compliance; Support FP&A and other Finance teams with quarterly special purpose reporting; Assist in preparation and review of month-end account reconciliations as part of the monthly close, and help to oversee the overall monthly close process; Assist in the preparation of financial statements; Coordinate and liaise with the international offices on deliverables such as the monthly/quarterly financial reporting package, local statutory audits, and the monthly close process; Reconcile Inter-company accounts and prepare expense schedules and invoices to international offices on a periodic basis; Regularly interact with overseas finance teams to resolve international accounting issues; Assist in preparation of monthly financial statements for the broker-dealer entity; Work with the compliance department to satisfy document requests for internal/mock audits, and to ensure compliance with SEC regulations; Periodically assist in the design and maintenance of internal controls and process narratives.

nn n nn nn GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS nn Strong academic achievement with minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience (Big 4 public accounting strongly preferred) Solid understanding of corporate consolidated financial statements is critical Knowledge of partnership accounting is a plus Excellent organizational skills; ability to effectively prioritize multiple tasks with high attention to detail An ideal candidate will be a self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit Solid interpersonal skills with capacity to interact with all levels and with other groups within the company; Must be a team player Ability to operate in a complex, multi-business unit, high-paced environment Capability to handle highly confidential and sensitive information Must exhibit high level of professionalism Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong excel skills required nn n nn nn DESIRED EDUCATION nn Bachelors Degree in Accounting/Finance required CPA license required nn nn
