Senior Global Product Manager – Medical Device

nn The role nn nnAs Sr.

Global Product Manager, Upstream Marketing, you will be responsible for Avanos’ Pain Management future pipeline by helping to create innovative and world-class medical devices which fulfill customers’ needs in our Acute and Chronic Pain segments.

Leveraging customer insights, you will identify key unmet needs and create the business cases to support and drive strategic development and execution of our products through innovation, internal or external R&D, or business development opportunities.

The position requires a confident leader able be able to create insight-driven strategies, be execution oriented, and work effectively with others.

You will be the marketing representatives on the product development teams from concept phase all the way through to commercialization.

Strong collaboration across the global regions and with functional departments such as R&D, clinical, regulatory, legal, sales, operations & consumer marketing will be necessary for success in this role.nn nn n nn nnEssential Duties and Responsibilities:nn nn nn nn New Market Development nn Develop global business cases for new market and concept ideas that include strategic fit, market sizing & financial modeling, high level unmet clinical needs definition, competitive landscape, commercial implications, and go or no-go recommendations.

nn n nn nn New Product Development & Global Product Launches nn Serve as the global marketing core team member for new product development from concept through to commercialization and guides associated financial trade-offs to optimize business value.

Collaborate with cross-functional team to meet milestones and ensure timely product launches with a high level of quality.

Conduct regional and global market research to quantify the size of the addressable market.

Collect Voice of Customer (VOC) associated with identifying product needs and features.

Collaborate with product development (R&D) to establish unmet needs, translate to design specifications, and assist in validation activities.

Understand competitive landscape, integrate business needs into the product and ensure desired claims are in marketing plan.

Work with finance and global regions to develop financial forecast models.

Develop comprehensive marketing plans including value proposition, messaging, key claims, customer segmentation and targeting, pricing strategy and evidence-based strategy.

Closely communicate with regional partners throughout NPD (new product development) process to capture primary market needs and smoothly transition management of products in preparation for launch.

Build physician network to obtain VOC for projects and business opportunities.

Build strong relationships with downstream product marketing (globally), KOLs, medical advisory board members and relevant societies.

nn n nn nn Your qualifications nn nn n nn nn Desired Qualifications: nn nn n nn Strong strategic development skills, able to analyze complex data and identify key insights, opportunities, and risks Strong organization and management skills, able to drive performance and consistently deliver on commitments Ability to manage several projects simultaneously while working collaboratively with individuals across multiple functional areas of the business Ability to develop clinical expertise in the surgical and chronic pain fields and deep understanding of customer needs and R&D opportunities nn n nn nn Required: nn Bachelor’s degree required Minimum of 7 years’ proven and progressive global marketing and product management experience, preferably in the medical device industry.

Upstream marketing experience within medical device or healthcare industry.

The ability to manage cross-functional teams without direct reporting relationships Experience contributing to and driving strategic planning in a Medical Device organization Global perspective and effectiveness in cross-cultural environments obtained from experience leading/managing Global teams through a product launch process Exceptional written, verbal and presentation skills Ability to travel up to 30% at times (including some international travel) nn n nn nn Preferred: nn MBA or other Master’s degree Desire, passion and ability to gain therapy and product knowledge quickly Knowledge of product development process, and demonstrated leadership in a matrix environment Experience developing and delivering business presentations to executive management Experience authoring marketing and/or business plans nn nn
