Senior Data Engineer

3 month contract

*Potential for conversion to permanent

Remote (Pacific time zone)


Our Client is seeking a Data Engineer to join their People Analytics team. They have one of the largest employee populaces and are at the cutting edge of Organizational Effectiveness analyses. They need someone to help them establish and maintain proper data security and storage for sensitive employee data to ensure the right level of security is applied without losing the efficacy of the data they are analyzing, as it relates to GDPR. This person will need to be able to work with fellow data engineers and scientists across the Company and Global HR organizations to ensure compliance to security standards and business requirements are both met. This is a 3-month REMOTE contract assignment with potential to convert to a permanent position with this Company.


  • As a Data Engineer you will be working in one of the world’s largest and most complex data warehouse environments.
  • You will be developing and supporting the analytic technologies which push the limits of traditional O/E research and extract the most value from the data available to our team.
  • You will be supporting GDPR masking of sensitive data around employee communication practices
  • You will be implementing a system which shards central data to separate out regulated country data and masking appropriately
  • You will work with Science leaders in understanding the business requirements and implementing solutions to support analytical needs.

Required Skills/ Experience

  • Top requirements: Solid Python skills, senior level Data Engineer experience, strong SQL skills
  • 5-10 years of Data Engineering experience
  • A good candidate has strong analytical skills and enjoys working with large complex data sets.
  • 3+ Years of SQL experience
  • 3+ Years of Python experience
  • 3+ Years of Scala experience

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Understanding of GDPR requirements and solutions around regulations
  • Strong understanding of data security
  • Familiarity with data sharding/container systems
  • AWS experience
