Environmental TechnicianGainesville, GAPosition Overview:Responsible for wastewater treatment and hazardous waste management at Harris Products Group to meet regulatory requirements.

Must maintain all certifications and licenses as required by State and Federal regulations.

Performs routine and preventive maintenance on related equipment according to regulations and work procedures.

Maintains accurate records and maintains an inventory of related chemicals.

Position requires a high regard for safety and OSHA requirements at all times.Major Responsibilities: Treats industrial wastewater to meet regulatory requirements.

Performs all required chemical procedures, analysis and adjustments in accordance with EHS work instructions.

Maintains accurate records and maintains inventory of related chemicals.

Maintains required license by attending annual training and educational events as required by the issuing authority.

Handles, stores, labels, monitors, and disposes of all waste materials generated plant-wide as described by EHS work instructions.

Identifies, labels, prepares, and loads waste materials to be transported or shipped including machine chips.

Maintains treatment files and completes all required documentation according to regulations.

Monitors and collects all recyclable materials and ensures proper placement for recovery.

Monitors and maintains all related equipment as specified by EHS work instructions.

Maintains and performs routine preventive maintenance on de-ionization columns and cooling tower.

Monitors and maintains machine shop oil and coolant levels.

Per regulations, performs visual checks on premises as specified by the SPCC and Storm Water Pollution Prevention plans and completes required documentation.

Work on cost saving projects, Six Sigma projects, and provide support for other team members and projects.

Utilize lean tools and techniques such as 6S and visual factory concepts in maintaining order and cleanliness.

Qualified candidates should demonstrate an exemplary work ethic and possess: Current Industrial Pretreatment Operator License.

Industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing arena.

Tested Basic Chemical knowledge.

2 or more years of related work experience and High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
