Position Overview

The Corporate Counsel reports to the General Counsel and provides a variety of general legal services. The primary role of the Senior Corporate Counsel is to serve as an in-house legal generalist who advises on a wide variety of domestic and international legal matters including corporate governance, securities matters, business development, data privacy, human resources, and the full spectrum of corporate documents, agreements, and contracts.


The Corporate Counsel will work extensively with many functions and areas of the Company in an effort to understand both business goals and corporate risk, and to implement business solutions in the best interest of the Company. This position will be tasked, as needed, with a variety of responsibilities to support the legal needs of any area of the Company, working independently or under the General Counsel based on the project. As the Company rapidly expands into international markets, these areas may include providing worldwide support for complex litigation, human resources, business development, subsidiary management, the corporate secretary function, and compliance.

Additionally, this position will be responsible for supporting the overall pipeline of contracts for the Company and its US and international subsidiaries, including: drafting templates; drafting, reviewing, and negotiating corporate contracts; managing the contracting process; and determining contract priority and staffing. 

The Legal Department serves as a trusted advisor and partner to all facets of our business. The successful candidate will be expected to approach his or her work with a customer-focus and a results-driven attitude. The Legal Department works as a unified whole, and attorneys, paralegals, and support staff are often called upon to complete work outside of their immediate areas of responsibility, which enables us to provide exceptional service to our internal clients.

This position is ideal for a candidate who enjoys creating elegant solutions to challenging issues; is a fearless and effective negotiator; is curious about new areas of the law; is diligent, self-motivated, and accountable; invests deeply in identifying and satisfying client needs; and works easily with a fast-moving team of strong talent and personalities.


  • 5+ years relevant legal experience including significant time with an AmLaw 100 firm and strong experience with contracting.
  • J.D. from a Tier 1 or Tier 2 accredited law school and membership in good standing of any bar association;
  • Must be a self-starter, team player, be able to work independently, be comfortable handling a wide variety of legal matters, and have a strong work ethic
  • Preference given to prior in-house experience, and particularly experience in the biotechnology, medical device, pharmaceutical, or other life science industry
  • Strong presentation, negotiation, and communication skills required
  • Ability to work well with diverse internal clients and external parties in a global company
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Must be willing to submit to a pre-employment background check and drug screen
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
