Credit Data Analyst

The Credit Risk Group is responsible for helping Lendmark to define and measure its credit risk appetite and ensure appropriate policies and strategies as it relates to loan underwriting and servicing to ensure that the Company stays within the parameters of that risk appetite in order to deliver consistent credit loss performance and profitability. The group facilitates consistent and accurate measurement of credit risk primarily by tracking key risk indicators for the portfolios, developing scorecards and tools to ensure risk appetite and profitability are effectively managed, and ensuring that underwriting and servicing policy and strategy are designed to deliver acceptable credit losses. The contribution of this position comes from providing support through data mining, reporting, and analytics utilizing the best technology for the task. This involves working well with other departments to complete assignments as well as selecting the right technology for the task.  The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills in addition to their technical skills.


  • Compile data used to perform analysis on large datasets using various tools.

  • Build and maintain risk reporting in Excel and other reporting tools.

  • Partner with key business groups including Operations, IT, Finance, and Audit to obtain data used to monitor key business activity and answer ad hoc questions.

  • Build and maintain relevant knowledge specific to the financial services business

  • Automate ongoing reporting with the help of IT.

  • Learn new systems, reporting tools, and programming languages.

  • Build knowledge of internal data fields and table structures

  • Develop cross-functional background knowledge in order to provide back up support to other areas of Risk Management when needed

  • Responsibilities are subject to change over time.


  • 1-3 years of experience in a data analytics and/or financial reporting function.

  • Proficiency in Excel (Lookup & Reference, Logical, Text, Date, and Statistical formulas) is required

  • Proficiency in SQL or SAS is required

  • Programming experience in at least one of the following: SAS, Python, and/or R is a plus

  • Strong communications and interpersonal skills required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics or a similar quantitative discipline


  • Master’s Degree in Business, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics or a similar quantitative discipline

  • Experience in a consumer lending company is a plus.

  • Programming experience: SQL / VBA / R / SAS and/or Python


  • Normal office environment, located in Lawrenceville, GA with a mix of some telecommuting
