Index Projection Lead VP – ATL

Description**About this role****Te** **am Overview**The Index Data team, part of the BlackRock Data & AI organization, is responsible for onboarding new or custom public indices on BlackRock’s proprietary Aladdin® end-to-end investment platform.

BlackRock and its BlackRock Solutions (BRS) clients utilize these indices as an integral part of investment and risk management, serving as benchmarks for Mutual Funds, ETFs, and Hedge Funds, Pensions, and other products.

Index Implementation works closely with index vendors such as MSCI, S, FTSE, and Markit Partners, as well as internal partner teams including Client Analytics, Portfolio Management, Relationship Management and other BlackRock Data & AI groups.Index Data is a diverse and distributed team with exposure to a vast array of markets and asset classes and service clients in all spectrums of the financial markets.**Responsibilities:**+ Be on the forefront of crafting a state-of-the-art automated projections system+ Understand data mapping and be lead specialist on tracker files from various equity index providers+ Research of projections for upcoming index changes in the underlying benchmarks, which are used by portfolio managers to place trades+ Partner with developers to deliver critical projection functionality to clients (provide technical requirements, perform functional testing & manage pipeline of user feedback)+ Research encouraged index changes, upcoming corporate actions, and major index rebalances+ Improve and streamline index projection process by participating in technology migration+ Advise and collaborate with global index providers on implementing methodology best practices+ Work closely with Management to lead/assist on key strategic projects that require regional or global coordination with team leadership skills+ Provide business management support including compiling and synthesizing relevant data sources in order to incorporate findings into relevant business reporting and presentations+ Support analytical ad hoc analysis and projects**Qualifications:**+ Bachelor’s Degree is required, with preference to business subject areas such as Finance, Accounting, or Economics, and technical fields such as Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering+ 5+ years of hands-on experience with index projections data & tracker files is a must+ A ‘Student of the Markets’ mentality: Intellectually curious with a passion for learning about the global financial markets and the investment management business+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills combined with an ability to connect across different functions and levels+ Basic knowledge of SQL, UNIX, or Python is a plus**Our benefits**To help you stay energized, engaged and inspired, we offer a wide range of benefits including a strong retirement plan, tuition reimbursement, comprehensive healthcare, support for working parents and Flexible Time Off (FTO) so you can relax, recharge and be there for the people you care about.**About BlackRock**BlackRock’s purpose is to help more and more people experience financial well-being.
