Job Location USA, La Fayette, GA Job Posting Title Materials Flow Leader The Challenge Actively Manage 400-600 part numbers to have adequate inventory available in order to support production operations and inventory days on hand (DOH) targets. What you will Do ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: + Work with Bill of Materials Techs and Engineering to assist with part changes for safety, quality, cost and delivery challenges.+ Plans, implements and controls the efficient, effective flow and storage of goods, services, and related information from the point of origin to the point of consumption in order to meet internal customers’ requirements.+ Work with Fab/Fin and Assembly Lines to minimize schedule disruptions while fulfilling customer orders.+ Maintain all record logs accurately, on time, and legibly+ Update Oracle planning parameters for Roper and Derby actively to adjust to inventory targets and schedule changes.+ Work with transportation project manager to reduce inbound freight costs and minimize expediting costs to support production and NPI Activity.+ Lead Lean AWO’s to reduce inventory within the plant and alongside the production areas.+ Actively coordinate potential supplier issues with Sourcing team, Master Scheduler and Materials Manager.+ Work with Service Parts team to fulfill customer orders+ Work with suppliers on various material flow projects to reduce RIP and improve material presentation.+ Make Safety a priority in all aspects of job.+ Identify, resolve, and forecast problems and potential solutions to inventory and quality+ Serves as an agent to guide supplier diversity efforts by providing data monitoring, evaluation, status reports and program communication+ Provides analysis of data regarding inventory control & trend reports to facilitate decision making+ Trains cross functionally to support Scheduling & BOM Team as neededRoles and responsibilities subject to change contingent on business needs. What you need to Succeed EDUCATION: High school diploma or G.E.D. required. Excel, Word, Outlook, Oracle SCM, PowerPoint classes and experience. On the job experience and knowledge of Material flow throughout operation a plus. EXPERIENCE: Materials experience required. SKILLS/ABILITIES: Must possess the ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical functions at the high school level. Ability to use Excel, Word, Power Point, Oracle SCM and VCP, access schedules and coordinate needed production. The employee is required to stand, walk, sit, push, pull, reach overhead, climb and bend to the floor. The employee will need to obtain material handling license. Employee must be able to coordinate activities and needs with between Materials and Manufacturing operations. Ability to successfully communicate/interface with all production departments and managers. EQUIPMENT/JOB TOOLS : Basic office equipment including but not limited computers, printers, copiers, and scanners, telephone, fax machine, cart, etc. WORKING CONDITIONS : Production shop and production office environment.GE Appliances is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
