nn nn The New Product Strategy Lead, VISion, will help drive the company’s commercial strategy for future growth of Alexion’s pipeline in collaboration with R&D and Business Development (BD).

This role is accountable for leading pre-clinical and early stage commercial strategies for multiple assets, including indication selection for pipeline candidates and commercial assessments for BD opportunities.

nn nn This role reports to the Head of New Products Strategy, VISion.

nn nn Job Responsibilities nn nn Leads and establishes global mid-term and long-term commercial strategies for early stage pipeline assets , partnering with research & development, regions, and countries, driving key cross-functional strategic alignment and planning.

Leads all aspects of commercial strategy and inputs for new products including development of global market assessments, commercial input to disease/indication selection, commercial strategies, commercial implications of scientific/clinical data, disease and diagnostic market development, target product profiles, product positioning, pricing and reimbursement, forecasting, early-stage market planning, customer and patient segmentation, and other activities related to strategic market development.

Develops commercial and revenue assumptions, commercial assessments, and recommendations to support BD transaction discussions with executive leadership.

nn nn Provides commercial direction to Global Product Teams (EPTs), on pre-clinical pipeline assets programs, label extensions and global operations initiatives to support decisions regarding new Discovery projects and pipeline candidates.

nn nn Provides commercial direction and supports commercial assessments through the business development diligence process.

Working with a cross functional team of Alexion experts, this role will develop key risks and opportunities assessment, mapping of the competitive landscape, validation of the commercial assumptions plan to support deal revenue model, inclusive of qualitative and quantitative market research.

nn nn Assesses competitive market dynamics and prepares scenario plans for key competitive events.

nn nn Manage budgets in accordance with commercial strategy plan.

nn nn This is a highly visible role and this individual will be in front of senior leadership presenting assessments in many opportunities.

nn nn Profile & Qualifications nn Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or business field, Master’s or MBA preferred 5+ years’ related experience in the biotechnology industry, in marketing, sales, medical affairs or HEOR Strong understanding of scientific data and issues as they impact product development and commercialization with a thorough understanding of the drug development process from preclinical through launch Specific experience in developing high level and in-depth commercial assessments leading to important business development and clinical development decisions Experience in new product planning, in-line, and/or new product marketing.
