Ordnance Handler Associate with Security Clearance

Description:Working in a team environment, assist higher level personnel in the receipt, transportation, and storage of large rocket motors from manufactures. Assist in the transportation of rocket motors, missiles, missile components, and miscellaneous equipment between production buildings using special vehicles such as KDTs, translifts, sideloaders, forklifts, and large trucks. Prepare missiles for delivery to and from SSBN by installing/removing missile hoisting equipment. Assist in the transportation of missile and special weapons between the SWFLANT production buildings and SWFLANT waterfront areas.
Basic Qualifications:
* Typically requires a minimum of 12 months of experience in directly related work. * Possess elementary knowledge of rigging for the purpose of listing and moving large multi-ton objects. * Possess mechanical aptitude and the ability to use general purpose hand tools.
* Ability to read and follow checklists in proper sequence. * Ability to work from applicable U.S. Navy publications, missile processing documents, and vendor manuals. * Ability to read various gauges and instruments and record test data. * Ability to perform work in confined spaces as required to perform job tasks (SWFLANT ONLY). * Skilled in the use of computers and ability to learn new computer applications. * Ability to qualify for and maintain required operating certifications/qualifications and/or licenses to operate over head bridge and jib cranes, forklifts, tow tractors, trucks, semitrailers and other equipment as required. * Must possess a valid state driver’s license and will be required to qualify for or possess a CDL with class “H” endorsement, material handling equipment license, and explosive driver’s license. * Ability to obtain and maintain the requirements of the Personnel Reliability Program (PRP) and Radiological Controls Program (RADCON).
* Ability to squat, kneel, lift up to 45 pounds and climb to various heights.
* Willingness to work around large ordnance items, work odd shifts and overtime as required.
* Ability to obtain an interim clearance prior to start and maintain required level of clearance thereafter.
* Must be a United States Citizen.
Desired Skills:
Previous experience with ordnance handling and transportation operations.
FBM program experience and familiarity with SWF Culture.
Experience with CSL, heavy equipment, forklift and overhead crane operations.
Experience with procedural documentation and procedural disciplines.
Proficient use of hand tools and knowledge of proper rigging techniques.
Previous experience working in a team environment.
