The Quality Leader serves as the Head of Quality for our Absorbent Hygiene business and is a key member of the senior leadership team reporting into the General Manager of the Absorbent Hygiene business.

The role can be based in any of our Absorbent Hygiene locations in Pennsylvania or Georgia, or remotely within the Northeast or Southeast regions of the United States with travel to all sites and customers as required.

This role is responsible for the overall quality program and strategy across all manufacturing facilities within the Absorbent Hygiene business, and will design, implement, and measure a proactive and comprehensive strategic quality program through effective leadership, programs, tools, training and coaching.

The position may also be extended to include oversight for the company’s broader regulatory activities and initiatives.

Primary responsibilities include:

Provide leadership and strategic plans to develop, implement and maintain a quality assurance and quality control program/roadmap to support the business

Lead and direct a team of Quality professionals across various sites

Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Regulatory, and Product Development to deliver on the business objectives

Instill, reinforce and maintain a quality culture which will facilitate an incident free environment

Reduce costs through prevention-based systems and measurements while creating value for customers and a competitive advantage for FQ

Lead development and implementation of quality systems to support business objectives in accordance with regulatory, industry, and customer requirements and standards

Provide guidance related to GMP, FDA, Canadian Medical Device and ISO regulations/guidelines

Participates as a Lead Auditor throughout First Quality as needed to augment systems and provide unbiased reviews, as well as lead all third-party audits

Represent First Quality with customers and within the industry on all quality related matters

Set policy, procedures, reporting and evaluation systems and training programs

Develop or modify quality procedures, metrics and processes and monitor performance against short and long-range plans to achieve quality goals

Establishes and implements quality metrics for monitoring system effectiveness and to enable the company team to make sound quality decisions and monitor continuous quality improvement

Plan for and provide training and development opportunities for team members in order to build a culture of quality throughout the business

Performs root cause analysis to identify effective corrective actions and ensures timely resolutions to customer inquiries and feedback investigations

Monitors quality performance across the division, reports progress, and keeps division leadership informed of progress, issues, corrective action, and customer complaints

Provide direction to ensure compliance with all applicable customer requirements and government regulations involving product quality

Participate in quality auditing activities including external audits, supplier audits, and internal audits

Establishes the product quality documentation system by writing and updating quality assurance policies, procedures, and work instructions

Works with procurement, assisting in the development of new/existing supplier capability and helps to manage relationships and partnerships to effectively provide materials that improve quality, improve efficiency and reduce cost

The ideal candidate profile:

The successful candidate will be a senior quality leader who is a working manager willing to “roll up their sleeves” to develop best
– in-class programs and processes, and subsequently providing leadership while executing in a hands-on fashion.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science or related technical field preferred

Minimum of 15 years of experience working in Quality roles within a manufacturing organization, with a minimum of 5 years of Quality leadership/management experience

Experience working in a consumer products organization highly preferred

Hands-on experience implementing Quality initiatives in a manufacturing setting preferred

Excellent analytical, data management/presentation, reporting, writing, and computer skills are required

Experience in Quality Assurance Management/Supervisory skills in an FDA-regulated environment

Advanced knowledge of ISO, GMP, and regulatory requirements and practices

Experienced with leading and managing audits

Process improvement, Lean and/or Six Sigma certification preferred

Experience with and ability to interact with regulatory agencies, senior management, and customers

Extensive supervisory experience and ability to guide, train, mentor, and supervise direct reports

Strong communication skills including written, oral, presentation, and the ability to influence at all levels

Able to travel to company sites and customer meetings
