Senior Environmental Scientist

Overview nnSealaska Technical Services (STS), LLC is seeking a part-time Senior Environmental Scientist to support our growing federal and commercial business operations.

 STS is a growing, small business that provides environmental consulting, technology integration and deployment, systems engineering, environmental monitoring, and construction management services to a variety of governmental and commercial clients at job sites located around the world.nn nn nn nnThe successful candidate will have strong regulatory skills to support projects in various environments.

We are looking for a candidate with applied experience related to the regulatory analysis of highly technical projects for National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) compliance, and other federal statutes requiring specialized support.nn Responsibilities nn Primary Responsibilities: nn Subject matter expert report preparation related to regulatory compliance for inclusion in NEPA documents and other compliance related projects.

Position is expected to support program manager in performing modeling and preparing, reviewing and producing complex technical documents in a timely manner.

Other duties as assigned Qualifications nn Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: nn nn nn Prefer a master’s degree in a relevant discipline.

Prior experience as a subject matter expert for development of NEPA documents (i.e., environmental impact statements).

Prior experience with preparing NEPA documents for the Departments of Energy (DOE) and/or Defense.

Familiarity with regulatory requirements of nuclear reactors.

Demonstrated leadership qualities working with program managers, clients and team participants, and a successful track record in developing and completing assignments.

Strong history working with federal and state government clients including the DOE, Department of Defense, and/or the Environmental Protection Agency.

Comprehension of government contract compliance requirements, especially administrative records.

Proficiency with MS Office and SharePoint.
