Supply Chain Planner

We are seeking a Supply Chain Planner for the Simonton Windows plant in Lithia Springs, Georgia.

In this job you will be responsible for maintaining and updating the master production schedule to match the Sales and Operational Plan, and ensure on time deliveries to meet production requirements and to be sure acceptable inventory levels are maintained.

In addition, you are responsible for daily system maintenance, coordination of Engineering Changes, creation of shop orders, and continuous improvement of the Materials and Information Flow process, including the development and documentation of scheduling and replenishment purchasing processes, and creating/enhancing the tools utilized in the processes.

YOUR WORK Manage the master schedule through coordination with Inside Sales, Supply Chain, and Operations.

Plan, prioritize and facilitate production scheduling.

Perform production control including creation and release of shop orders, monitoring shop floor status, and capacity planning.

Establish and maintain production Takt Times to match customer demand.

Anticipate and recommend alternative scheduling due to impending delays or serious difficulties.

Assist department manager with production issues.

Act as a liaison between all plant departments, customer service and Divisional Planning.

Participate with team members in daily back-order reporting and review process.

Ensure that all products are shipped on time.

Follow the flow of materials from receipt to shipping.

Prepare to participate in daily and weekly production meetings to discuss and maintain production Schedule when Senior Supply Chain Planner is unavailable.

Analyze data to determine opportunities to decrease inventory, improve customer service levels, and reduce total cost.

Monitor inventory transaction integrity and resolve problems.

Perform inventory adjustments as necessary.

Identify BOM and item master discrepancies and facilitate necessary corrections.

Manage routing database and make changes as necessary.

Maintain accurate records and provide regular reports on the status of material.

Maintain adequate job progress and status records.

Coordinate Engineering Change Notices and ensure they are fully implemented by effective date.

REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Science or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.

At least one year of manufacturing or production scheduling experience required Able to engage in multiple projects and facilitate multiple functional efforts in support of the production plan.

Capability of mastering MRP system.

Working knowledge of engineering, purchasing, and manufacturing processes.

Strong computer skills.

Use sound reasoning when conceiving and making judgments.
