Two Year General Contractor Apprenticeship Program

TruPorch Homes is a property management firm managing 30 long term rental homes in the Gwinnett County area and are growing a management portfolio of short term rentals in town Atlanta.

This is a two-year apprenticeship program where you will learn and develop technical skills in residential maintenance (painting, carpentry, flooring, tile, light electrical, light plumbing) We are looking to add maintenance help (both part-time and full-time) to our staff.

Maintenance staff is responsible for supporting the daily operations of single family rental and short term rental.

Responsibilities:
Helps turnover short term rental in cleanings and follows checklists
Ability to conduct hands on work in various trades
Insure that job completion time targets are met
Insures that Construction Guidelines are maintained at all times.
Interact with the Maintenance Supervisor and other subcontractors
Professional conduct is required
Qualifications:
Reliability, Punctuality, Honesty
Good work ethic
Hands on experience in residential real estate construction and related trades
Familiarity and general understanding of masonry, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, painting / drywall, flooring, and carpentry
Must poses strong verbal and written communication skills
Exhibit strong attention to detail
Basic Computer Skills
Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts
Minimum Requirements:
3
– 5 years Construction Experience
Valid Drivers License
TRUPORCH HOMES MAINTENANCE TEAM PROGRESSION

Apprentice

Compensation: $8-10/hour
Limited/No technical skillset; some experience working in adjacent trade
Ability to lift heavy objects
Great communicator
Positive attitude
Team player
Willingness to learn and take direction
Laborer

Compensation: $10-12/hour
Basic technical skillset; has completed tasks/jobs/specialty several times
Craftsman

Compensation: $12-15/hour
Technically proficient in one or more areas
Ability to troubleshoot/diagnose complex issues in area of expertise/specialty
Ability to procure materials/supplies at store
Master Craftsman

Compensation: $15-20/hour
Technically proficient in the majority of the areas of residential real estate
Ability to troubleshoot/diagnose complex issues in most areas of expertise/specialty
Ability to think about multiple solutions to problems/issues as they arise and select best option based on cost, time and effectiveness
Available to participate bonus/profit sharing
Master Supervisor

Compensation: $20-25/hour
Technically proficient in all areas of residential real estate
Ability to troubleshoot/diagnose complex issues in all areas of expertise/specialty
Ability to “Think Like an Owner,” with planning, best solutions, cost effectiveness
Ability to meet deadlines and occasionally come in early
Ability to manage subcontractors/instruct and teach junior staff
Available to participate bonus/profit sharing
