VP Product Trading Cards

Company is a new company working at the intersection of trading cards and technology. Backed by some of the best investors, sports properties and operators in the world, we are integrating with Company’ global digital sports platform – which includes 900 sports relationships and more than 81 million reachable fans – to reimagine the trading card business for the 21st century.

Company Trading Cards is looking for an experienced VP of Product, who is excited about building a next-generation card company.

As the VP of Product Management for all of FTC, you will drive the product strategy for the company across all it’s pillars. Your goal is to maximize the impact of the various pillars and orient the company with an aggressive growth strategy. The role includes working with the executive team to build and execute a product strategy across a wide variety of disciplines. Excellent story-telling, communication and team-building skills are required to collaborate effectively with organizational leaders in other functions and lead the team. You will manage other product leaders and product managers towards a common vision and mentor them to do their best work — market and user research, requirements definition, and roadmap creation. You will work closely with marketing, design and engineering colleagues as well as other functions in sales and support.

Responsibilities

  • • Develop long term strategy, vision and priorities for company wide initiatives
  • • Partner with engineering leads to ensure teams of PM’s, designers and engineers are operating effectively at all levels
  • • Manage cross-team dynamics to ensure the entire team is successful, proactively instituting process improvements across the organization
  • • Plan the structure of the product management function in the company, managing headcount, and where necessary, participating in the external hiring process.
  • • Present a compelling data-backed narrative of the product strategy, laddering up to company strategy
  • • Create a transparent, collaborative and dynamic team culture
  • • Set standards for the product team, including career growth planning and objective setting
  • • Serve as the subject matter expert for product work within the company, providing guidance to the leadership team into customer needs, business strategy, marketplace dynamics and competitors
  • • Attend conferences and customer calls, gathering information from current and prospective customers as well as helping close deals
  • • Stay up to date on product development across the company, identifying dependencies, potential impact, and opportunities for to drive larger impact

Qualifications

  • • Experience: You have 10+ years product management experience on technical  products.  
  • • Management: You have 5+ years of experience managing teams of PMs, and have directly managed a team of 4+ product managers
  • • Execution: You have led product at fast growing organizations which are able to execute consistently, delivering quality projects of the broadest scope and impact on time
  • • Technical: You are comfortable working with engineering leadership to prioritize broadly and you understand technical complexities of your product areas
  • • Analytical: You have a good grasp of experiment design, statistical analysis and multivariate testing.  You can use data to set OKRs, create dashboards to monitor product health, review analyses from across the company and develop basic models. You can construct a narrative for using data in order to drive the decision making process
  • • Organizational skills:  You are able to manage multiple teams with stakeholders across the organization.  You have experience working closely with business & marketing partners
  • • Communication: You’re a strong communicator, both written and orally. You enjoy working with complex concepts and distilling them down so that anyone can understand them. You’re comfortable working cross functionally with stakeholders and can manage competing needs to drive alignment and resolution
