Fleet Maintenance Manager

The Maintenance Manager, an integral part of the Fleet Maintenance management team, is responsible for all aspects of maintenance related to rolling stock assets, including oversite of all shops, call centers, and maintenance support personnel as well as ensuring Colonial’s preventive maintenance program is executed and bearing responsibility for DOT compliance with all maintenance related activities.

JOB EXPECTATIONS/DUTIES

    Tracks and ensures execution of preventive maintenance on all assets as well as all DVIR / EDVIR’s are addressed per CFR 49 Part 396.11, and record keeping is completed.

    Manages and ensures all record keeping and compliance is done for: CFR 49 Part 180.407 Cargo Tank Inspections, CFR 49 Part 396.17 Periodic (Annual) Inspection, CFR 29 Part 1926.1412 Crane Inspections.

    Ensures equipment down time is minimal across all operations.

    Develops relationships with vendors to be partners in achieving maintenance and compliance goals

    Parts procurement oversight to enhance our ability to upfit and repair assets economically.

    Ensures we are capturing warranty on all assets to realize the value of our warranty programs.

    Holds full P&L responsibility for the maintenance activities on our rolling stock assets.

    Manages shop operations through the appointed shop managers.

    Manages call center operations and ensure effective 24/7 coverage through an on-call rotation.

    Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

  • Automotive Technical degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience to sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
  • 2 years management experience in a logistics shop environment/call center, to include P&L.
  • Experience with DOT, FMCSA, and OSHA regulations.
  • Experience with HAZMAT regulations and cargo tanks.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage competing demands and problem solve competently.
  • Class A CDL with tank and HAZMAT endorsement preferred.
  • Be willing to work flexible schedule, and on call as needed.
  • Some travel required.
