Global Product Group Manager, Smart Power, Electrification Division will lead the GPG providing direction and resources and establishing mid-term and long-term growth strategy for the Product Group.

Reporting to Managing Director of Smart Power Division, will be accountable for execution and achievement of the growth plan in line with the Division goals and strategy by providing a competitive market driven product and solution portfolio and supporting the Marketing & Sales function while providing the customer value proposition and price positioning.

Your responsibilities

  • Set and achieve a market driven strategy to drive profitable growth and capital efficiency within the Product Group, in line with Division strategy.

    Plan the necessary resources and investments.

    Identify and propose opportunities for mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, or partnerships.

  • Ensure achievement of established targets, through oversight and definition of improvement actions as needed.

    Focus on achievement of Orders, Gross Margin %, EBITA%, NWC, Product Cost and Project On-Time and On-Cost (e.g., meeting market requirement specification, R&D cost, Time to Market).

  • Set and ensure delivery of the product strategy, including targeted customer segments, product, and solution innovation, managing, and planning the product portfolio and providing business intelligence.

    Establish the price positioning of the product and set the product roadmap in line with Business Line strategy.

  • Ensure that products and digital solutions in roadmap are developed with the planned return on investment, on target costs and timeline and in line with quality standards set by Quality Wins Program.
  • Define the manufacturing footprint requirements for the Product Group.

    Lead the establishment of manufacturing standards and the development of industrial engineering technology and processes.

    Ensure production cost and gross margin % defined in growth plan.

    Ensure processes to deliver stat of the art quality to customer.

  • Implement global standards, rules, tools, policies, and processes related to operations/project execution and share functional best practices and lessons learned across the organization.
  • Ensure that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed and directed.

    Build an effective, capable, and high performing organization.

Your background

  • University degree (Master) in engineering and/or MBA with minimum 10+ years of management and leadership experience in a global organization managing P&L business
  • Strategic thinking, competence in analyzing and managing complex business situations
  • Strong executive communication and people management skills
  • Strong team building & networking capability, inclusive Leader
  • Product knowledge of Electrification business (low and medium voltage)
  • International experience/ global mindset/ teamwork and collaboration in an international environment
  • Fluent in English
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
