Driftaway Cafe is hiring full-time lead line chefs Driftaway Café was established in 2001 and has been serving Savannah and her visitors daily since then. We are family-owned and operated and love our community. We are a casual dining restaurant with full bar service located in the historic Sandfly neighborhood near the Isle of Hope. We are looking for motivated kitchen leaders. Serve Safe certification and brunch experience a definite plus. We are looking for creative and energetic people that like to cook and take pride in their food and like to keep a clean workspace. The ideal candidate would have at least three years of cooking experience in a fast-paced restaurant and understand work ethic! Choice candidates should have reliable transportation as well as good communication skills. Understanding that time management and punctuality is also key. Hours and pay flexibly with the right candidate. No late nights or parking meters.


  • Order materials, supplies, and ingredients based on demand.
  • Supervise kitchen employees and organize food orders.
  • Oversee the food preparation and cooking process.
  • Recruit and train kitchen employees in designated stations.
  • Monitor inventory levels and perform weekly inventory assessments.
  • Work with the restaurant manager to price and change menu items.
  • Schedule work shifts for employees.
  • Store all food products in compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Ensure the kitchen is clean and organized.
  • Maintain weekly and monthly cost reports.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Restaurant Management or certification from culinary school is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of kitchen health and safety regulations.
  • Ability to work well in a stressful and fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and conflict management abilities.
  • Outstanding communication and organizational skills.
