Sr Director Product Management Data & Delivery


This is a Full-time position in Alpharetta, GA posted February 21, 2021.

Company is seeking a product manager who has a desire to work on a winning team dedicated to providing customers with the right resources to help them succeed.  Responsible for the overall performance of the product, overseeing product managers who are responsible for taking products from inception and ideation through design, build, launch, growth, enhancement and eventual sunset. Responsible for ensuring the team manages the profit & loss (P&L) and budget objectives associated with the products within their purview.

This Leadership role within product management will lead a team to drive our Batch Product Line Strategy, Innovation and Life-cycle management across our Batch Platforms and Products.  Bringing Innovation to the forefront of vision and executing driving effective change across USIS to increase customer experience, revenue growth and operational efficiencies.

What You’ll Do

  • Responsible for the performance of a product portfolio, overseeing product managers who are responsible for taking products from inception and ideation through design, build, launch, growth, enhancement and eventual sunset.  Responsible for ensuring the team manages the profit & loss (P&L) and budget objectives associated with the products within their purview.
  • Drive and manage the performance of the team, providing coaching and direction to the team and delivering results through the work of the team.  Recognizes individual strengths and development needs within their own team and arranges specific assignments to address those needs. 
  • Understands talent requirements within a team of product managers and proactively identifies talent internally and externally, working to create opportunities to recruit and leverage talent.

  •  Drive execution of market analysis, sizing and validation through review and testing of concepts (voice of customer, customer advisory boards, etc.) 
  • Use strong knowledge of competitive landscape to anticipate, articulate and execute on high potential opportunities through team 
  • Drive execution of strategic priorities, product definition and identification of new opportunities; oversee and provide input into the creation of product roadmaps
  • Articulate buy, build, partner approach; drive build, buy, partner approach and decisions for products within purview
  • Provide consultation on commercial model and packaging decisions 
  • Understand the vision and strategy for the product portfolios and drive the execution of both across the organization
  • Provide direction in the creation and presentation of business cases
  • Design objectives through Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for team
  • Collaborate with product development management on the product development process and technical resource allocation.
  • Understand product trade-offs and drive alignment, , consult on product’s future lifecycle consult with product marketing and provide input to ensure success
  • Understand the product performance throughout the lifecycle and drive actions accordingly to ensure attainment of revenue and margin objectives.
  • Represent insights and findings to drive product development and lifecycle management decisions 
  • Ensure the continual collection of customer feedback by own team to consistently gather insights that contribute to Company’s ability to provide value. 
  • Hold others accountable for delivering value-added services to customers with expected levels of quality and speed that have been previously established. 
  • Drives understanding of market demand, demand trends, market problems, and the value of solutions to customers and the market across the team.
  • Interpret internal and external business challenges and recommend best practices for product, leading implementation of changes for own team. 
  • Cultivate relationships with internal and external peers to gain perspective on industry challenges and identify new ways to manage your own team. 
  • Identifies and resolves technical, operational and organizational problems, which are typically of moderate complexity
  • Makes decisions guided by policies and the job family/department’s business plan that impact the level of service and the team’s performance objectives often amidst ambiguity or uncertainty
  • Develops plans and coordinates resources to meet operational objectives within area of responsibility, identifying and reducing obstacles for the team
  • Establishes goals and achieves results within own scope of responsibility, holding self and others accountable for results

  • BS or MS degree in Business Administration 
  • 8 – 10 years experience working in full cycle product management;  2+ years with sole responsibility of a product portfolio
  • 6+ years experience leading a cross functional team, delivering results through the work of team, driving and manage performance within team, providing coaching and direction to Product Managers, developing and set expectations across team, manage talent development across team
  • Experience with cloud, agile, transformation and innovation

  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of market opportunities as well as broad industry and market awareness to drive financial and operational performance across products. 
  • Technical knowledge of products to meet customer needs by managing across the cross functional team delivering, implementing, and supporting the product across it’s lifecycle including: Development, delivery channels, customer implementations, customer support, product enhancements
  • Deep understanding of customer needs through market and industry research and analysis
  • Understands market segments as well as market data trends relative to the product to maintain organizational awareness of: Customer usage and satisfaction, product operational metrics, competitive standing relative to other alternative solutions
  • Understanding of team dynamics to build strong partnerships with other functions groups that can be continually leveraged over time to accomplish goal
  • Subject matter expert, thought leader, and spokesperson for the product portfolio to all internal audiences and stakeholders
  • Ability to negotiate and influence the opinions of others within the business unit and in external organizations, exercising a high degree of sensitivity to the audience. 
  • Developed and maintained strong relationships with a diverse set of internal and industry peers, building a strong understanding of the issues facing Company and the product function
